Mark your calendars for the 2013 Summer Play Dates!

Kindergarten – August 3, 10am – noon, Pumpkin Park (3600 Locke Lane)

First Grade – July 20, time and location t.b.a.

Second Grade -July 27, 9:30am, Ervan Chew Park (4502 Dunlavy)

Third Grade – August 24, time and location t.b.a.

Fourth Grade – August 18, 3 – 6pm, Dairy Ashford Ice Skating Rink (1820 S. Dairy Ashford)

Fifth Grade – August 4, time and location t.b.a.

Odyssey of the Mind is hosting fundraising parties with music, dancing, snacks, and prizes! Click here to sign up now!

Kinder and 1st graders: Wednesday, May 15 12:45 – 2:00 pm (cost is $10)

2nd, 3rd and 4th graders: Thursday, May 16 3:15 – 4:30 pm (cost is $10)

5th graders: Friday, May 17 6:30 – 8:00 pm (cost is $15, party attire is encouraged)

The parties are chaperoned, and admission includes snack and drink.  These events are open to the whole school and your kids won’t want to miss the fun!  Minimum donation of $10 (K-4), or $15 (5th grade, special evening event includes photo keepsake, Italian soda, finger foods, and dessert bar!).  Proceeds benefit Odyssey of the Mind.  We will NOT be selling tickets at the door, so sign up now! Contact Janine Cashin (janine_cashin@yahoo.com) with registration questions, or contact Elisa Donovan (edonovan3301@gmail.com) to volunteer!

As we approach Thanksgiving, the parents of our PTO have much of which to be thankful and the teachers, administrators, and students of River Oaks Elementary (“ROE”) have much of which to be proud. ROE was one of the first schools in Texas to be authorized as an International Baccalaureate (“IB”) Primary Years Program campus and is a leader in IB education. ROE has hosted numerous site visits for existing and prospective IB programs across the country. Our teachers and administrators are consulted for best instructional practices by the entire district.
