We have many volunteer opportunities throughout the year with various commitment levels that can fit your work and family’s schedule. The PTO offers special project committees (for example, Development, Spring Carnival, Books Fairs) and committees with ongoing needs through the year (for example, Nature Center, School Library, and ROE Spirit Store).
Please consider sharing your time with River Oaks Elementary for one or more of these opportunities. Sign up online if you are interested in any of these opportunities! If you have questions about volunteer opportunities, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator(s) at firstname.lastname@example.org, or the individual(s) in charge of the event/opportunity at the email addresses posted below. We would be happy to answer any questions you have and we look forward to working with you! If you have any special skills, employment or interests you would like to share as a resource, please let us know.
Please remember that every year all volunteers in HISD need to be registered through VIPS. Even if you had an active VIPS account during the previous school year and had registered as a River Oaks Elementary volunteer, you still need to register at www.houstonisd.org/vipslogin; once your application is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email; once your background check is completed, you will receive a status email; lastly you need to present an ID at the front desk to be re-activated this year. Once you are CLEARED to volunteer, you are eligible to volunteer throughout HISD.
