The Fall Frenzy Auction Party is the PTO’s biggest single event fundraiser and the school’s main social event for parents. The 2010 event was attended by more than 400 parents, teachers, and friends who enthusiastically bid on a variety of great items and services and raised more than $100,000 for the school. Fall Frenzy proceeds have been helped support the essential needs of our school such as the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, a new science lab, a bully prevention program, Nature Center, Odyssey of the Mind, staff development, as well as all of our enrichment programs.		  

This year, the committee is focused on making sure all essential needs are meet at ROE through its IB curriculum and enrichment programs with the funds raised at the 2011 event. Businesses, parents, teachers, and classes have donated a wide range of items for the auction:

  • Sports and performing arts tickets
  • Restaurant and retail gift certificates
  • Travel and vacation packages
  • Photography sessions
  • Spa packages
  • Great Gatherings for children and parents throughout the year
  • Crafts made by ROE students
  • Gift baskets
  • and much, much more.

School spirit items include a VIP parking space and birthday messages on the Kirby Drive marquee. Some items are offered through silent auction (bid sheets), and others are offered through the live auction and raise the paddle later in the evening. There are opportunities to bid for very valuable items and experiences starting at very low price points. This event provides an evening of food, music, and fun as parents and teachers visit in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

This event requires volunteer help in many areas, such as donation solicitation and tracking, software data entry, report generation, publicity, ticket sales, catalog layout and publication, decorations, venue setup, breakdown and clean up, check in, check out, and many others. The planning for this event starts at the beginning of the school year, and the event is usually held in early-to-mid November.

The 2011 Fall Frenzy will take place on November 5th Saturday at the Junior League of Houston, Inc . Please consider taking an active role in the school volunteer opportunities or just join us in the fun.  Please contact us at fall-frenzy@riveroakspto.org
